Born In Gorgi,Georgia (A Russian republic)
His original name was Loseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili.

Initially his mother enrolled him in a Seminary where he would study to be a Wonderful
Preist , but he was removed for not obeying the rules.


In 1903 he joined an underground revolutionary group that sided with the Bolshevik's.

Until 1917, Stalin remained "behind the scenes",until he joined the Politburo,
and became secretary-general of the party's Central Committee.

By force Stalin Removed his competition after the death of Vladmir Lenin in 1924

Leon Trotsky, Grigory Zinovyev, Lev Kamenev, Nikolay Bukharin, and Aleksey Rykov )
BY 1928 Stalin had Full Control of Russia, then known as the U.S.S.R. He ruled until 1952
He dies of a Brain Hemorrage in 1953.

-Used the Secret Police(KGB)to Intimidate Citizens and to remove his competition(Leon Trotsky).

-Names Streets and schools after himself after coming to power.Has monuments built in his honor.

-Ruled brutally against the citzens of his country
Ex: The Great Purge, Stalins idea of eliminating all threats to his communistic society.

In his later years,Stalin faced alot of "back lash" from other countries regaurding his actions involving the purges of the 1930's,
as a result his public appearances, became even less frequent in the late 1940s and early 50s.

-Trains the dogs at a young age and he uses them to run Snowball, his only competition away.

Names the Windmill after himself, and also has a picture painted of him in the barn.

"He personally congratulated the animals on their acheivement, and announced the mill would be named,Napolean"(68).


Shows brutality towards the animals who opposed his rulings.

-Slaughters the chickens, three pigs who rebel against his rules, and also the sheep who admit to urinating in the drinking water.

Likewise, the novel states that after the mass murder of the farm animals Napoleans public appearance became rare.

" In these days, Napolean rarely appeared in public , but spent most of his time in the farmhouse..."(52).

- It is found that Napolean rules with the same level of brutality as Stalin.

"He ordered the hens rations to be stopped, and decreed that any animal giving so much as a grain of corn to a hen should be punished by death"(68).
